This section of the chapter "Choosing a topic" is about why we need to commit to one and only topic per assignment. The topic you choose is the subject you would be talking or writing about.
The first thing that needs to be considered before deciding that this is your right topic is answering the question: Is it well suited within your assignment? If the answer is maybe, or no then you probably should not be writing about this specific topic.
Secondly I think that is very important that the subject you are writing about is something you have an interest for. If the subject is something you do not really care about, then writing about it can feel like a struggle. We need to choose topics that seem interesting to us. Topics that we want to learn more about and then share our knowledge with others.
When we are indecisive about what we should be writing about, one of the first thing we should do is write all our ideas on a paper. Then ask questions about them, like the previously mentioned question of, is this topic fitting with my assignment. Once we do that, next we can talk and share our ideas with other people. By doing that we would be more aware of how good and relevant this topic actually is. This two simple steps can help us find the perfect topic for your assignment.
We should also challenge ourselves by not choosing topics we already know the answer to. Choosing something more modern and controversial in this day and time can be helpful in making the right decision.
